Genetic Affair

Jules Zvsky spent all his money on bribes to delete from his record 345 numbers. 345 genes that disqualified him for marriage with a Moon born woman.

“Nothing will stop us from being happy!” he said.

Her name was Elisabeth and Jules had fallen madly in love with her. She was of a very rare Moon ancestry and her genetic makeup was compatible only with 0.00001% of all the humans born on Earth.

So, madly-in-love Jules deleted from his medical record all the genes that tied him to Earth. It took all the money in the bank to delete all 345 genes. The deletion was permanently, but unfortunately for Jules love wasn’t.

In Elisabeth’s defense it had all been his idea. Still, she felt guilty when she broke up the engagement.

“You can’t make me happy”, she said.

Now, madly-poor Jules knows what it feels to be compatible with only 0.00001% of the population too. Where genes can be forged, love can’t.
